National Dog Brevet

The participating organizations are pursuing several goals with the new, uniform Swiss-wide certification:
Dog owners should be made aware of their responsibility.
The population as a whole should feel that dog owners are making an effort to train their animals.
As the certificate is valid across all cantons, it can be more easily recognized by those cantons that require dog owners to undergo training.
The focus is on the topic of “learning with dogs” and thus the insight that owners and animals can achieve common goals with a lot of fun - and without the finger of admonishment.
The NHB is divided into 4 levels, whereby only individual parts can be completed if participation is voluntary:
Theory course: Written confirmation after attendance
Theory exam: Written confirmation if passed
Practical course: Preparation for the exam, at least 10 hours
Practical examination: Receipt of the NHB certificate if passed
